Muncie-Kylie Jean Cooksey, 29, passed away Saturday morning, January 28, 2017 at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on June 17, 1987 in Muncie the daughter of Rex and Nancy (Sherfy) Cooksey.
Kylie attended Muncie City Schools and later became a pre-School Instructor for the Kingdom Care Day care Center which is a ministry through Kingdom Builders Church. Ms. Cooksey was active as a Mentor in” The Healing Place”, which is a ministry for adults in substance abuse, located in Louisville, Kentucky. Her life was centered on her children and their activities. She will be missed not only by her many family members and friends but also her Beagle Puppy “Cooper”.
Survivors include her children, Branson David Dalton, Bryant Robert Dalton and Gabriella Sophia Cooksey, all of Muncie; her parents, Rex and Nancy Cooksey, Muncie; her sister, Kimberley Wright (husband-Tyler), Muncie; maternal grandparents, Jim and Daisy Sherfy, Muncie; Paternal grandparents, Terry and Elaine Cooksey, Muncie; one Aunt, Cathy Cooper, Muncie; one uncle, Zane Cooksey (wife-Amy), Louisville, Kentucky; several great Aunts and Uncles, cousins and many special friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal great grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Nathan Watson officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Friday evening, February 3, 2017, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Saturday morning, February 4, 2017, from 9:00 A.M until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kylie J. Cooksey Memorial Fund for her children’s educational and special needs through the Mutual Bank of Muncie 1912 W. McGalliard Rd. Branch.
