Muncie-Leonard C. Ball, 84, went to be with The Lord early Monday morning December 31, 2018, at the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on October 2, 1934, in Whitley City, Kentucky the son of William Addison and Alcie (Stephens) Ball.
Leonard earned his diploma while serving as a Private First Class in the United States Army during the post Korea era. He became a truck driver and worked for Pepsi Cola Bottling for over 30 years retiring in the mid 1990’s. Mr. Ball was a member of the Teamsters Union local 135 where he had served as the union steward for a period of time. Leonard was an avid hunter and fisherman but, mostly, he treasured spending time with his family.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Ball and Robert Ball (wife-Celena, both of Muncie; three daughters, Lenna Ball, Julie Hobbs (husband-Ryan), both of Muncie and Lisa Trammell (husband-Steve) Winfield, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Seth, Hanna, Miranda, Hayley, Miciah and Cole; five great grandchildren; one sister, Carole Little (husband-J.B.), Fairfield, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Beekman)Ball in 2017; his parents; two brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, 10:00 A.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Chuck Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Beechgrove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday morning, January 9, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until service time.
