Lois Mayfield Obituary

Lois Rebecca (Moore) Mayfield, one hundred years, eight months and eight days old passed away at home surrounded, by her family, on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018.

Mama was born on March 7, 1918 in Barton, Alabama, the daughter of Ed and Jennie Moore. She married the love of her life, Austin, on March 9, 1939. During their 34 years of marriage, they had 7 children.  Mama retired from Anchor Hocking Glass Factory after 20 years of service.

Mama mostly wanted to be remembered for being a loving Mother and Grandmother. She was happiest when she was in her kitchen cooking for her children and grandchildren. Mama was well known for her southern cooking, which included homemade biscuits, cornbread and sweet tea.

Missing her deeply will be her youngest son and caregiver Mike Mayfield, Sons, Travis Mayfield (Patti); Gene Mayfield (Velia); Daughters, Rose Ertel (Lloyd); Betty Oswalt (Bill); Linda Wood (Joe).

Grandchildren, Randy Mayfield (Becky); Karla Mayfield; Darla Mayfield; Michelle Lee (Todd); Brian Ertel (Lori); Matt Oswalt (Andie); Tommy Oswalt (Andrea); Tyson Wood; Eric Wood; Lance Mayfield (Meghann). Granddaughter-in-law, Suzy Mayfield. Great Grandchildren, Alex Mayfield; Jacob Mayfield; Taylor Mayfield (Tiffany); Gracie Lee; Carson Mayfield; Ethan Mayfield; Luke Mayfield; Remy Mayfield; Ryleigh Oswalt; Lainey Oswalt; Cole Oswalt. Her beloved chihuahua Bear and special friends Pam Shinn and Chris Harvey.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; Husband Austin Mayfield; Infant son, Abraham Mayfield; Grandson, Blake Mayfield; and four sisters.

The Rainbow Bridge will be lined with dozens of her fur babies welcoming her home.

Funeral Services will be held at Countryside Christian Church 1212 East 100 South Winchester, Indiana on Wednesday November 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.

Calling will be held Tuesday Nov. 20, 2018 at Countryside Christian Church from 4 to 7 pm and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
