Loren R. Holbrook, age 83 of Muncie, Ind., passed away June 20, 2018, peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 10, 1935, and is originally from Daleville, Ind., the son of the late Alta (Fenwick) and Joseph Holbrook. He was a graduate of Daleville High School and Ball State University.
A member of Corinth United Methodist Church, Loren cherished spending time with his family and especially enjoyed working on the farm, watching his grandchildren grow up and participate in numerous activities and events and volunteering his time at Ball Memorial Hospital and his church’s food pantry. Loren also enjoyed spending time at his lake cottage with his family and working on his model trains.
Loren served our country in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha at Ball State and was a member of the Daleville Masonic Lodge.
Loren retired from Guide in Anderson, Ind., division of General Motors after more than 30 years. Loren was involved in farming his entire life.
Loren is survived by his loving wife Jo Ann (Shroyer) Holbrook of 59 years and his three sons John (Debbie) Holbrook, Greg (Debra) Holbrook and Rick (Cindy) Holbrook; one daughter Lorie Holbrook; his beloved grandchildren Christy, Tamara, Ethan, Abbey, Amy and Jim Holbrook, and a cousin; Ronnie Fenwick.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 PM on Sunday June 24, 2018 and an hour before the service on Monday. The funeral service will be at 10 AM on June 25, 2018 at Parson Mortuary, 801 W Adams St. Muncie, IN 47305. Burial will follow at Saunders Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the Delaware County Honor Guard.
