Muncie-Marvin Sours, 84, passed away Tuesday morning, March 13, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on, August 7, 1933, in Muncie, the son of, William H. and Gladys (Phillips) Sours.
Marvin attended Royerton Schools and later married the love of his life, Joyce Ellen Sours in 1955 and she survives. Mr. Sours had worked as a Machinist for City Tool and Die Company for ten years and later, the Muncie Reclamation Corporation for twenty three years prior to his retirement in 1996. Mr. Sours had been a member of the Machinist Union, enjoyed bowling and hunting deer. He proudly served in the Indiana National Guard from 1950-1960.
Besides his wife of 63 years, Joyce, he is survived by one son, Mark Sours (wife-Elaine), Muncie; two grandsons, Marc “Jason ”Sours (wife-Leah), Muncie and Michael Sours (wife-Kristi), Yorktown; five great grandchildren .
He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Elder Jason Sours officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie. Military honors will be rendered by the Delaware County Honor Guard.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Friday, March 16, 2018, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
