Muncie-Mary K. Hosier, 60, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 17, 2018, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on October 16, 1957, in Anderson, the daughter of Robert Hosier and Katherine (Raber) Hosier-Davis.
Mary was a 1976 graduate of Monroe Central High School and later obtained her Master’s Degree from Ball State University in Education. Enjoying children, Mary has taught at Grissom Elementary School for the last 24 years. She was a member of the Mt. Olive community Church where she had taught Sunday school for 30 years and taught in the vacation Bible School. Miss Hosier enjoyed camping, and going to Disney. Mary mostly enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include, four sisters, Cody Shanayda (Kurt), Muncie, Sarah McCartney(Danny), Yorktown, Ruth Ann Hosier, Muncie, Becky Youngdale(Kurt), Albany; two brothers, John Hosier, Bowling Green, Kentucky and David Hosier (MaryAnn), Parker City; several nieces and nephews, Chad(Jill), Jessie(Brian), Jonathan(Heather), Moke, Kenny, Brandon(Gloria), Brantley, Dustin(Andrea), Andrew, Anthony, Mandie , Donny, Rosa, Eli, Lauren(Aaron), Benjamin, Lindsey, Lane(Alexa), Lexi, Zander, Sis, Em, Babers, Mr. C., I-Man, A,G,
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Hosier; Step father, Gene Davis and one sister-in-law, Terri Hosier in 2012.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, 5:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Rod Eiler officiating. Cremation is taking place.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, from 2:00 P.M. until service time.
The family wanted to share Mary’s strong faith, so when asked what one thing Mary wanted the kids to know she responded, “God is good, no matter what!”
Memorial contributions may be made to Grissom Elementary School or at the viewing and memorial service at Parson Mortuary, to be used to furnish school supplies, hats and gloves to students in need.
