Ovia “Butch” Blevins, 70, passed away Saturday evening, August 31, 2019. He was born on August 16, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio to Rosella Toomey and Ovia Blevins Sr. Ovia was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life, JoEllen Blevins, enjoyed fishing and working on cars and especially loved spending time with his family.
Ovia is survived by his wife of 50 years, JoEllen, daughter, JoEllen Blevins; Son, Brian Lee Blevins Sr.; Sisters, Joyce Ranes, Rose Cox, Connie (Jesse) Cox and Sherrie Miller; Brothers, Oshel Blevins, Keith Blevins and Terry Toomey; Grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Blevins Jr., Blake Lewis, Austin Blevins, Raven Garcia, Alexis Blevins, Steven Blevins, Jordan Blevins, Bryce Blevins, Brianna Blevins and Zariah Blevins; and Several great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Rosella Toomey and Ovia Blevins Sr.; Brothers; Charles Marshall, Delmar Blevins and Edsel Blevins; Sisters, Mary Blevins, Betty Mains and Dorothy Blevins.
Services for Ovia will be held Friday, September 6th, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street, Muncie, Indiana 47305, with Pastor Jim Ballenger officiating. Visitation is from 12 p.m. until the time of service, with burial to follow at Tomlinson Cemetery.
