Patricia Kay Ellis

Muncie: Patricia K. Ellis passed away the morning of August 4, 2018 at I. U. Ball Memorial Hospital. Patricia was born May 28, 1950 to Dorothy M. and Jack L. Ellis in Crawfordsville Indiana. After moving to Muncie, she attended school at Muncie Central High School graduating in 1974 and later graduating from Ball State University in 1988 with a Bachelor’s degree in science taking photojournalism and advertising. Ms. Ellis went to work for Marsh as a Village Pantry Manager, and loved her customers, from 1978 until early 2003 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After her recovery, she became a homemaker. She loved to play bingo, board games, and video games. She enjoyed listening to country music often going to shows and country music fanfare in Nashville, Tennessee. She was an avid bowler and member of the Women’s International Bowling Alliance (WIBC), bowling in several mixed leagues and women leagues and the Filmore League at Fair Lanes. Patricia was a very proud mother of her two daughters and grandchildren attending as many school functions as possible. She truly enjoyed anything that brought her close to family and friends.

Surviving Patricia are her daughters: Jennifer K. Slaven (David) and Anita Bowden; three sisters; Wilma Lewis, Sharon Jones, and Dorothy Carmichael; three brothers; Jimmy Ellis (Anne), Fred Ellis, and Richard Ellis (Rick Patterson); five Grandchildren; Devin (Kacie) Slaven, Kylie Kramer, Keely Eckman, Kaleigh Eckman, and Mason Herbert. Patricia was overjoyed at the news of her first soon-to-be Great Grandchild Kambrey Slaven. She will also be missed by her nieces: Erica Jones and Lana Lewis Walker; a special friend, Olivia Justice and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Precious, her beloved cat, brought joy to Patricia’s life and will miss her greatly.

Her parents; Dorothy M. and Jack L. Ellis; two brothers; Jackie Ellis and Eddie Ellis; and her very close friends Virginia McGahey and Karin Parker preceded Patricia in death.

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary, 801 West Adams Street, Muncie, Indiana on Friday August 10, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. with Ryan Kramer to officiate, burial to follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
