Ray Clark, 84, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 19, 2018, at the Indiana University Methodist Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on March 27, 1934, in Stearns, Kentucky, the son of, Hulen and Ida M. (Jones) Clark.
Ray married the love of his life, Betty J. (Winningham) Clark in October 19, 1952 and she preceded him in death on June 23, 2014. Mr. Clark had worked as a machine operator for Chevrolet in Muncie for 30 years prior to his retirement in the early 1990’s. He had been a member of the Gloryland United Baptist Church, the Avondale Sympathy Club, sang and travelled for The Lord with the Gloryland Gospel Singers. He owned and operated the Rays Fruit Stand on 32 east for many years and played music in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
Survivors include four sons, Glenn Clark (wife-Marcia), Avon Park, Florida, Ronnie Clark, Baxter, Tennessee, Rickey Clark (wife- Beth), Jacksonville, Florida, and Donald Clark (wife-Robin), Nashville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Fallon, Gunner, Nicholas, Kaitlyn and Wyatt Clark; one great grandchild, Casin Clark; three brothers, Gilbert Clark, Muncie, Albert Clark, Muncie and Dillard Clark, Stearns, Kentucky; one sister, Lela Cantrell, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife of sixty years, Betty, he is preceded in death, his parents; four brothers, three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Parson Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Friday evening, June 22, 2018, from 3:00 P.M. Until 7:00 P.M. and again on Saturday morning, June 23, 2018 from10:00 A.M. until service time.
