Rev Sharon Long Obituary

Rev. Sharon Lee Long, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday night, January 10, 2019 at Community Hospital in Anderson, Indiana. Sharon was born on January 18, 1936 in Muncie Indiana to Chester Earl and Garnet Bell (Leicht) Kelly.

Sharon graduated from Muncie Central in 1954 and went on to pursue her teaching degree at Ball State University. She married the love of her life, Larry Harold “Dutch” Long in 1958. She was a Minister and a teacher, a Pastor at First United Church of Christ and East Side Evangelical Church. Sharon loved the Lord and her family dearly.

Sharon is survived by her children; LeEtta Brewer (Mike), Lynn Jackman (Kip), Brian Long, Kelley Long and Lisa Marquis, a sister, LeAnna Hood (Lyle), 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years, Larry “Dutch” Long, and a sister MaryEtta Zartman.

A funeral service for Rev. Sharon Long will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at Parson Mortuary in Muncie with Craig Patty officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the service time. Burial will follow in Marion National Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to the Long family at www.parsonmortaury.com
