Muncie-Ruthie M. Curtis, 71, she went to her heavenly home early Friday morning at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on January 1, 1942 in Bunny, Arkansas, the daughter of Rufus L. Smith and Mary Ruth (Wallace) Smith Dalton.
Ruthie married the love of her life Franklin “Frank” D. Curtis on December 24, 1957 in Muncie and he survives. Mrs. Curtis had cleaned houses for 36 years and retired in 2003. She had been a Sunday School Teacher for many years and enjoyed cooking, sewing and being with her family. Mrs. Curtis was a member of the Four Square Gospel Church.
Besides her husband of 56years, Frank, she is survived by two daughters, Kathy Hartman (husband-Bruce), Gainesville, Florida and Tonya D. Smith (husband-Ray), Anderson; one son, Danny Curtis (fiancé-Julie), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister, Marie Claywell, Muncie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jim and Johnny Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Willie Warren officiating. Burial will follow at the Yorktown Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 12:00 P.M. until service time.
