Salvatore Joseph Dargo, III, “Sam”, 78 years old, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in Indianapolis. Salvatore was born in Muncie on June 13, 1939 to the late Ila and Salvatore Joseph Dargo, II.
After moving to Effingham, Illinois, Sam graduated from Effingham High School, later attending the University of Illinois. While in Muncie, he was in a band called “The Origineles” that included Ron Bonham recording original songs “Bandstand Sound” and” Lend Me Your Ear” which gained radio play time. His friendly disposition led him to become a very successful door-to-door salesman. He was an avid horseracing fan often attending and wagering.
Surviving Salvatore are his wife of thirty years, Teresa Hinshaw; three sons; Charles Phillip Dargo (Christina), DeMotte, Indiana, Salvatore Joseph Dargo, IV (Stephanie Jo), Muncie, and Tony Dargo (Katie), Pendleton; one brother; Phil Dargo; and one sister; Mary Jo Boggs. He was also blessed with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding Sam in death were his parents.
There will be a memorial gathering to celebrate Salvatore’s life on Friday, June 8, 2018 held at Parson Mortuary, 801 West Adams Street, Muncie, from 11:00a.m. To 1:00p.m.
