Susan Kay (Avis) Miller

Muncie- Susan Kay Miller, 62, passed away Friday afternoon, February 10, 2017, at her residence following an extended illness.  She was born on February 9, 1955 in Hartford City the daughter of Crawford and Bonnie (Michaels) Avis.

                Susan had attended Ft. Wayne City Schools and later became the common law wife of Michael Hurst in 1999 who still survives.  Ms. Miller had worked in the sewing department of the Bartlett Manufacturing for approximately 15 years prior to her disability in 2006.  She enjoyed doing crochet work and caring for her eight Chihuahua’s but, mostly she enjoyed spoiling her grandsons.

                Besides her husband of 18 years, Michael, she is survived by one daughter, Brenda Hardwick, Greenville, Ohio; two grandsons, Zaderian and Darian Hardwick, both of Greenville;  four sisters, Kathy Nibarger, Portland, Debbie Roling, Sioux city, Iowa, Martha DeFord (husband-Mel) and Betty Davis (husband-Terry), all of Ft. Wayne; one brother, Johnny Pippin, Portland; several nieces and nephews.    

               She is preceded in death by her parents.
                Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 15, 2017, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating.  Cremation will follow.

                Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
