Tom David Miller

                Muncie- Tom David Miller, 68, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 1, 2017, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.  He was born on May 6, 1949 in Ligonier, Indiana, the son of Charles D. and Emma Mae (Crabtree) Miller.

                Mr. Miller was a 1967 graduate of Martinsville High School and later extended his education at Morehead State University prior to being enlisted with the US Navy.  He served honorably and proudly as a Radar Technician during the Viet Nam Era and had many enjoyable experiences.   Following his stint with the Navy, Tom worked for several years for the Toshiba Corporation as a Copy Service Technician / Manager prior to his disability which forced his retirement.  Tom was a member of the AARP.  Mr. Miller enjoyed life through many interest which are too numerous to list.  He even studied and taught Astronomy to school age children when the opportunities were given.  Tom liked to take his pet dog Tycho to nursing homes to visit with the patients as a means of companionship and comfort.

                Survivors include four sisters, Judy Spoor (husband-Arthur), Indianapolis; Carol J. Fouts( husband-Greg), Hendersonville, North Carolina; Mary E. Miller-Stolz, Florence, Kentucky and Margaret E. Hamilton, Martinsville; two brothers, Charles Miller (wife-Emma), Bladensburg, Maryland and Joseph L. Miller (wife-Jan), Seymour; one sister-in-law, Marjorie Miller, Vincennes; several nieces and nephews.

                He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James R. Miller.

                Cremation is taking place with a private memorial service at a later date.
