VIRGINIA PEARL SHARP

Virginia Pearl Sharp, 92, of Muncie passed away August 31, 2018 in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by family and friends. Virginia was born December 7, 1925, to Edwin and Mildred McKinley. Raised in Muncie, she graduated from Yorktown High School in 1943.

            On November 17, 1946, she married John Sharp and together they raised two beautiful children. Virginia worked as a book keeper for three years at Farm Bureau and then went on to work in the Student Financial Aid Office at Ball State University for 25 years. She was a member of the Wonder Wives Home Ec. Club and the Selma Women’s Club. For several years, she volunteered her time at Ball Memorial Hospital in Out Patient Surgery.

            Virginia was also a long time member of Riverside United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her friends and family, listening to The Gaithers, worshiping the lord, and selflessly volunteering her time to help others.

            She is survived by her daughter, Aonde (Rich) Carraway of Selma, IN, daughter-in-law: Linda Sharp of Muncie, IN, five grandchildren: Tammy Holt, Amy Combs (Don Shelnutt), Molly Adams (Jim Longnecker), Melissa (David) Ireland, and Shawn (Kendra) Sharp: seven great-grandchildren: Kalie (Brennen) Bales, Noah Holt, William (Brittany) Adams, Cheyenne Ireland, Brady Ireland, Kenzie Sharp, and BriAnne (Tyler) Young: three great-great grandchildren: Liam, Joey, and Maverick Adams; 3 step-brothers, several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with many life-long friends.

            Virginia is proceeded in death by her parents, husband of 35 years, John F. Sharp, her son: Gary Sharp, sister: Wilberta Skinner, step-mother: Rosemary McKinley, and one step-brother.

            A funeral service for Virginia will be held on Wednesday, Sept 3, 2018 at 10:00 am at Riverside United Methodist Church, located at,  1201 N Wheeling Ave, Muncie, IN 47303,  with Pastor John Young officiating.
