Vivian Cyr

Muncie-Vivian M. Cyr, 96, passed away Friday afternoon, April 27, 2018, at the Bethel Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.  She was born on June 18, 1921, in Fowler, Indiana, the daughter of Fred and Loretta (Anstett) Cyr.

                Vivian is a 1939 graduate of St. Francis Catholic High School in Lafayette.  Miss Cyr had moved to Muncie in the mid- 1940’s and worked in St. Mary’s Catholic Parish for the Senior Pastor then, Monsignor Edgar Cyr as a part time church organist and housekeeper of the parish and the parish rectory.  She had enjoyed knitting and traveling when she was able to.

                Survivors include two sisters, Regina L.  Kohn (husband-Herb), Marietta , Georgia and Bernadette Cyr, Fowler; three brothers, Edward Cyr (wife-Anita), Shamong, New Jersey, James Cyr (wife-Linda), and Norbert Cyr (wife-Cindy), all of Fowler; several nieces and nephews.

                She was preceded in death by her parents; a young brother Jimmie Cyr and a sister, Mary Philanise Herman.

                A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018, 11:00 A.M.  at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Andrew Dudzinski and Father Timothy Alkire officiating.   Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Fowler, Indiana.  Parson Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

                Friends may call at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, May 4, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. 

                Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society in care of the St. Mary’s Catholic Parish at 2300 W. Jackson St. Muncie, IN 47303.
