Muncie-William (Bill) Lyons was called home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2010 after succumbing to ailing health. He was born in Muncie, Indiana on February 17, 1928 and was a lifelong resident of Muncie.
Bill was a loving husband, father of four children, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in and around Muncie and the Indianapolis area. Bill enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the birds, spending time with the family, and playing with his dog Jesse. Bill was always there to lend a helping hand in a patient and understanding way.
He was the son of Ruth and Art Lyons of Muncie, Indiana. Bill graduated from Muncie Central High School and retired from Warner Gear after 43 years. He attended church at the Full Gospel Temple. During Bill’s life he bred award winning Bullmastiff dogs.
Bill’s family and friends will miss his sense of humor, wisdom, kindness, and love.
Bill is survived by his wife of 44years, Ivis Lyons, as well as two daughters, Beth and Marianne. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Artie and Glen.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Denny Helton officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, from 12:00 P.M. until service time.
