William "Eugene" Phillips

William “Eugene” Phillips, age 80, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018.

Born in Stearns, Kentucky, on July 8, 1937, he was the son of the late Luther and Ethel (Crisp) Phillips.  He married the love of his life, Debbie (Price) Phillips on June 15, 1981.

Eugene had been a factory worker at Warner Gear and served in the U.S. Army from 1964 -1968 and was a member of the Bethel United Baptist Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going on cruises, travelling and most of all spending time with his family.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, William Ronnie Phillips, three brothers: Alonzo Phillips, Luther Phillips, Jr., and Carlos Phillips; six sisters; Dora Adkins, Laura Jane King, Pat Phillips, Imogene Pryor, Zora Meyers and Cora Mickey Maxwell.

Surviving family include his wife of 37 years, Deborah (Price) Phillips; three sons: John Wayne Phillips, Rocky Dale Johnson (Amy), and Johnny Presley Johnson (Jennifer); four daughters; Deborah June Phillips, Jeanie Lambe (Brad), Kathy Davis (Robbie) and Lorie Polito (Efrin); two brothers; Wayne Phillips (Patsy), Blaine Phillips (Kathy), one sister; Clotine Clark (Winfred); sister-in-law; Julie Phillips, 18 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 30th at 1:00 PM at Parson Mortuary, 801 West Adams Street, Muncie, with calling from 11:30am – 1:00pm.

Visitation will  be held on Monday, July 2nd at Pine Knot Funeral Home from to 5-7 pm., in Pine Knot Kentucky. With a Graveside service at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Mountain View Cemetery in Stearns, Kentucky.
