Betty J. Tapley, 73, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 17, 2022, at the Waters of New Castle Health Care Center following an extended illness.   She was born on November 7, 1948 in Somerset, Kentucky the daughter of Clyde and Shella (Musgrove) Dolen.

Betty was a 1968 graduate of Muncie Southside High School and later worked in both the House Keeping and Dinning departments of Ball State University after 18 years of service retiring in 2012.  She was a member of the Westside United Baptist Church, the Ball State University Sympathy Club.    Mrs. Tapley treasured the times she could spend with her family the most.

Survivors include, one daughter, Sherry Tapley Hasankhani (Antonio), McCordsville; one son, Brian Tapley (Christal), New Castle; four grandchildren, Sloan, Byron (Maria), Dylan and Christopher; three great grandchildren, Joshua, Paisley and Alyza; three sisters, Mildred Wooten (Terry) and Bernice Jamison (Dave), both of Muncie and Brenda Tapley (Jerry) Springport; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew James (Jim Bob) Tracy, Jr. in 2020; one great -grandson, Jaxson Besser.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Larry Waters officiating.  Burial will follow at Springport Cemetery.
