Our mother, Beverly May "Doodle" Monroe, 92, sadly passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.  We will always love you forever Mom!  She was always there for all of us.  She loved that she was able to live her life in her own home with her little dog Rudy until it was time to go to her heavenly home.

Beverly was born on May 8, 1931, in Muncie the daughter of Noah and Alta (Anthony) Smullen.  She attended Royerton Schools and later married the love of her life, Earl Monroe and they had 43 years of marriage prior to his death.  Beverly enjoyed adult coloring books, cooking especially pies one of her favorites was Pineapple Crème Pie, knitting and doing crochet work, and socializing with the neighborhood children on her porch.  The family was very important to her.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Linda Joyce Hale (Bill); 1 son, David Earl Monroe, Sr.; 5 grandchildren, Brandy Troyer, Angie Anderson, Mendy Hale, David Earl Monroe, Jr., and Mary Monroe; 4 great-grandsons, Kaleb & Kyler Hale and Mitchell & Jamason Tyler; great-grandchild, Phoenix Biscuso, several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband Earl, she was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Janet Anderson; 1 son, George Monroe; her parents; 3 sisters, Betty Read, June Weakly, and Dorothy Staggs.

Private family burial will take place at Beech Grove Cemetery.  Parson Mortuary is entrusted with these arrangements.
