Carol Jean Monroe, 82 left this life on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the Parkview Randalia Campus in Ft. Wayne following an extended illness.  She was residing in the Hickory Creek Health Care Center in Huntington for several years.  She was born in Muncie on July 5, 1940, the daughter of George and Florence (Hall) Monroe, Sr.

Carol was disabled at birth.  She loved baby dolls, Elvis Music, and purses.

Survivors include 1 sister-in-law, Joann Monroe, Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 11 siblings, Mary Campbell, Elsie Atkins, Harry Monroe, Walt Monroe, Alice Raiser, Thornton Earl Monroe, James Monroe, Ethel Swartout, John F. Monroe, William (Bill) Monroe, and Emilie Grayson.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. at Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie with Minister Dorthea Bass officiating.    Parson Mortuary is entrusted with these arrangements.
