Charles Richard "Dick" Ellison, 89, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on May 21, 2022, at Indiana University Hospital in Portland, Indiana.  Dick was born in New Castle on July 22, 1932, to Ward and Mildred (Davis) Ellison.  After graduating high school, Dick proudly served his country by joining the Navy and serving in the Korean war.

Dick worked in the payroll department of Borg Warner for over 20 years, retiring in 1991.  He had a passion for all things outdoors including, hunting, fishing, and flying model aircraft.  He loved to tinker in his workshop and made archery bows, walking sticks, fishing poles, and boats.  Dick was an avid reader and particularly loved the book "Since You Went Away."  He was a man of faith and served his church, Temple Baptist Church, devoting many hours.

Dick leaves behind his wife Fern Ellison, two sons, Mark (Kathy) Ellison, and David Ellison, and daughter Sabrina Chandler.  He was proceeded in death by his first wife Marilyn (Tourney) Ellison and his parents.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Parson Mortuary and Cremation, at 1:00 PM.  Friends may call from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.  Burial will follow in Sunderland Cemetery, Daleville, Indiana.
