Charles E. Vance, Sr., 79, passed away Wednesday morning, March 16, 2022 at his residence following a brief illness.  He was born on March 29, 1942 in Seaman, Ohio the son of Frances M. and Matilda (Messer) Vance.  He was a 1960 graduate of Muncie Center High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army and honorably served until his discharge in 1963.  He had worked at Altrista formerly Ball Brothers Glass as a machinist for 37 years prior to his retirement in 2007.  He had the love of his life Doris Thomas for over 47 years.

His hobbies include coin collecting, keeping up with the current events and stocks. He was a loving pet owner to his dog Ace.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Vance, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Muncie and Jayson Vance, Sr. of Eminence, Missouri; the love of his life Doris Thomas including her children; Debbie, Theresa, Susan, Peggy, and Tom, sisters; Cathy Shoaf, Jean Partin, and Frances Perkins, Grandchildren; Heaven-Leigh Bennett, Joseph Vance, Joshua Vance, Zoey Vance, Jayson Vance Jr., Christopher Vance, Amanda Jordan, Jayden Tzarfati, and Dean Vance, along with several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents Francis M. Vance, Matilda (Messer) Vance, sisters; Juanita King and Coleen Macy, brothers; William Vance, and Otis Vance.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Parson Mortuary and Cremation Center from 11:00 A.M. with services beginning at 1:00 P.M with Pastor Dennis Trimble officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.  Parson Mortuary Cremation Center is entrusted with these arrangements.
