Donald Dean Shinkle, 71, of Muncie, Indiana, went home to the Lord on May 1, 2026, at Signature Health Care in Muncie, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born on January 12, 1955, in New Castle, Indiana, to Fredrick and Merle (Curtis) Shinkle.

Donald enjoyed working on his cars and drawing. He grew up on a farm alongside his siblings, where they shared a close bond and did everything together. He was a man of faith who attended church at Church of Christ on Meeker Ave and cherished time spent with his family.

He is survived by his children: Rebecca Shinkle, Jessica Shinkle, grandchildren: Brandon Shinkle, and Isabella Shinkle; his siblings: Mary Terrell, Linda Lowe, and Bruce Hampton (Jennifer); as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick Shinkle and Merle Hampton; his brothers, John Wayne "Bo" Shinkle and Kenneth Ray Shinkle; his brothers-in-law, Barney Lowe and Mike Terrell, Sr.; his nephews, Mike Terrell, Jr., Conner Mason Terrell, and Kenneth Lowe; and his grandparents, John "Jack" Curtis, Lillie May Curtis, and Nellie Shinkle.

Donald will be remembered for his love of family, his faith, and the simple joys that brought him happiness throughout his life.
