Estes James (Jim) Mitchell, 78, of Muncie, Indiana passed away on March 31, 2023, at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 29, 1944, in Muncie, Indiana to Hubert and Lively (Ring) Mitchell.

Estes enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, and keeping the bees safe, Estes also retired from Ball State University after over 30 years and served his country in Vietnam in the Navy.

Estes is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vicki Mitchell, daughter Luanda, brother Bert Mitchell, brother-in-law Terry Garriott (Linda), along with several nieces and nephews.

Estes was preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Lively, son Jimmy Mitchell, and his brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary and Cremation Center on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at noon until service time at 1:00, and burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
