Gary Mort,61, passed from this life on Wednesday afternoon, June 14, 2023, at his residence in Eaton, IN following a brief illness.  He was born on September 29, 1961, in Muncie the son of John and Mary (Smith) Mort, Sr.

Gary attended Muncie Community Schools and later married Heidi (Hoagland)Mort on June 30, 1999, and she survives.  Mr. Mort had worked for various smaller factories in the Hartford City area while also being a self-employed carpenter for various side jobs.

Besides his wife of 23 years, Heidi, he is also survived by 1 brother, John Mort, Jr. (Kristi), Eaton; 3 nieces, Jessica Push (Jeremy), Michigan, Jama Hale (David Wolfe), Kentucky and Amanda Boozier (Will Bitikofer), Muncie; 1 nephew, Bill Boozier (Heather), South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 Sister, Lisa Hale in 2002.

Cremation has been chosen with a private family gathering at a later date.  Parson Mortuary Cremation Center is entrusted with these arrangements.
