Staff Sargent Gerald E. Rodgers, 64, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Gerald was a serviceman and loved what he did for 32 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids, spending evenings out with his wife of 22 years and more; he loved taking his kids and grandkids to parks, climbing mountains, and he loved his country and being in the Army. Growing up, he was in the Boy Scouts; he really enjoyed that. His favorite passed time was to watch his tv shows, he got up everyday and went to work, very hard working man.

Surviving Gerald are: Teresa Ann Rodgers; his sons: Gerald E. Rodgers III, Jacob Rodgers, and Nathan Rodgers; daughter Danielle Rodgers; grandchildren: Ethan, Domanik, Diamond, Gerald, Selena, Alana, with lots of nieces and nephews. Siblings: Gary Rodgers, Sharon Cantrell, Tammy Cooper; in-laws: Connie Thomas (Tom), April Ferrell.

Preceded in death by grandparents Eli and Alvada Shreves; father and mother Gerald E. Rodgers Sr. and Janice Rodgers; brothers Steve, Arthur, Mike; in-laws Ruth and H. Wayne Ferrell, Sunshine Tammy Hershell, Tony Cooper, Ronald Cantrell; nieces Lori Mae, Patricia, Troy Allen,

The graveside service will be held at Beech Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with military honors.
