Homer William Wheeler Jr., 86, of Muncie, went to be with his Savior on September 17, 2026.

With his loving wife of 59 years, Sharon, by his side, and his son, Keith, and his wife, Connie.

He was born on October 5, 1939, to the late Homer Wheeler Sr. and Margaret Wheeler. He was a proud graduate of the Fort Wayne Northside Redskins in 1959. He was a hard worker, with many jobs, but he found his niche when he became a custodian in the public school system. He enjoyed it so much that he did it for over 30 years at nearly every school in Muncie.

He was a proud member of the Memorial Drive Wesleyan Church, where he served as the head usher for many years. Homer enjoyed camping, fishing, working out in the yard, and piddling in the garage.

Homer is survived by his wife Sharon, and son Keith (wife, Connie), daughter Twila, granddaughter Melissa, great-grandsons Trenton and Keaton, and great-granddaughter Hannah. Older sister, Beverly Coffey; brother, Larry Wheeler, sister-in-law Donna Wheeler, brother-in-law Larry Crawford, and sister-in-law Pat Furney; and many nieces and nephews.

Homer was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Margaret Wheeler; son, Kevin Bickel; sister, Patty Crawford; brother, Dan Wheeler; sister-in-law, Carolyn Wheeler; brother-in-law, Keith Coffey; brother-in-law, Marvin Furney; and granddaughter, Jenny Brumbaugh.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with an hour-long visitation before. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 4-6:00 p.m. at Memorial Drive Wesleyan Church.
