Ina Mae Hurt, 91, passed away on September 15, 2026, at Muncie Estates Senior Living in Muncie, Indiana.  She was born on February 13, 1935, the daughter of John and Ida (Delk)Simpson, in Monticello, Kentucky.

Ina moved to Muncie, Indiana, in the mid 1950's.  She married Paul Hurt, whom she had known since her early school days, and they were married for 67 years before his passing.  She gladly spent her days as a homemaker caring for her husband and children.

Over the years, she enjoyed doing various things like gardening, canning, and sewing quilts.  She was a good cook who was known for her pinto beans and made-from-scratch biscuits.  Ina was a faithful longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Left behind to miss her are her son, Scott Hurt; granddaughter Angela Mader (Craig); great-grandchildren Macie Goodman, McKenzie Shroyer (Nathan), Clayton Mader, Carson Mader (Sydney), and Dylan Goodman; great-great-grandchildren Brixton Mader, Nathan, Rileigh, Daniel, William, and Ryder. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Joyce Bernard (Gaylord) and Dean Brewster, as well as several extended family members.

Ina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, one son, Jeff Hurt, grandson, Chris Hurt, and siblings, Benny, Keith, Paul, Kenneth, Irene, Lula, Evelyn, and Alvie.

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 1:30 PM.  Friends may call on the family from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM the day of the service.  Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery.  Pastor Larry Waters will officiate.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Diabetes Association or to the donor's favorite charity.
