Irene Holt, 93, went to her heavenly home Friday evening, November 11, 2022, at willow Bend Living Center following an extended illness.  She was born on May 9, 1929, in Mt. Pisgah, Kentucky the daughter of John and Ida (Delk) Simpson.

Irene attended the Wayne County Kentucky schools and later married the love of her life, Lewis Holt on October 14, 1967, in Muncie and he preceded her in death on October 7, 1998.  Mrs. Holt had worked for Wise Steel Co., Werts Novelty, and finally Gray's Motel & Restaurant for most of her working life. She was a member of the Bethel United Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting and gardening.

Survivors include one brother, Keith Simpson, Monticello, Kentucky; three sisters, Ina Mae Hurt, Muncie, Dean Brewster, Monticello, Kentucky, and Joyce Barnard (Gaylord), Muncie; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband of 31 years, Lewis, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Benny, Paul, and Kenneth; two sisters, Evelyn and Lula; one stepson, Mike Holt.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at Parson Mortuary with Pastor DeWayne Loveless officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
