Iris Lorene Poore, 96, passed away at her Dunkirk, Indiana, residence on September 12, 2026.  Iris was born on June 7, 1930, to Minnis and Roxie (Conley) Cook, in Byrdstown, Tennessee.

Iris moved to the Muncie area in the early 1950's.  She gained employment with the Werts Novelty Company, where she worked as a Punch Board Operator.  She eventually retired from Werts after thirty-one years.  Lorene enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, and tending to her flowers.  She was a strong-willed person who cared deeply for her family.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Angela Stephens (Eric), Angela Miller-Shirley (Kevin), Jeremy Poore, Kelley Poore, and Eric Poore (Michelle), as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Minnis and Roxie, three children, Kelley Poore, Larry Poore, and Sandra Vannatter, and a granddaughter, Amber Vannatter.  In addition, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 12:30 PM, at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street, Muncie, Indiana.  Friends may call on the family from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, north of Muncie.  Pastor Rusty Clements will officiate.
