Janet Tuhey (nee Cox) of Springport, Indiana passed away on October 6, 2023, at the age of 71.  She was born November 1, 1951, in New Castle, Indiana.  Janet was a beloved wife and mother.

Janet will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Tim, and their daughter, Erin.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Cox (nee Brangan) and Gene Cox, as well as her brother, David.

Janet received her education at Muncie Central High School and later pursued higher education at Ball State University in wildlife biology.  She dedicated herself to her career at Christie Woods from 1980 to 1992.  Janet's commitment to her work was matched only by her passion for nature and wildlife conservation.  She previously served as the President of the East Central Indiana Audubon Society.

Janet deeply loved birding, sewing, quilting, gardening, and solving crossword puzzles.  She spent most of her free time on walks in the woods and back at the pond on the property.  Janet's compassionate heart extended to stray cats.  She also had an appreciation for the music of the Beatles.

In honor of Janet's wishes, no services will be held.  Memorial contributions can be made in Janets, Name to the Nature Conservancy, Indiana Donor Network, or East-Central Indiana Audubon.

Janet will live on in nature and her loved one's memories.  May she rest in peace.  Parson Mortuary Cremation Center is entrusted with these arrangements.
