John Auten, 75, passed away Tuesday morning April 5, 2022 at his residence after a multiple year battle with Prostate Cancer. John was born to Ernest and  Geraldine Auten on Sunday April 14, 1946 in Terre Haute Indiana. He graduated from Garfield High School and then earned a degree in Chemical Engineering from Rose Hulman in 1969. He married Kathy Baldwin in 1969 and she survives. John was a member of Industry United Methodist Church.

John worked as a Senior Plastics Engineer in Process Engineering and Plastics Development for over 20 in Anderson , Indiana for GM and Delphi Corp. He then worked for Crown Corp. at their world headquarters in New Bremen, Ohio as a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer. For 20 years he owned "Classic Cones LLC' food concession trailers operating in four different states.

John is survived by loving wife Kathy; son Ryan (Dr. Candace) Auten, daughter Allyson (Calvin) McGlaughlin; grandchildren Connor Auten, Kristen McGlaughlin, Jessica McGlaughlin; brother Bill Chester; Sharon Butts and special cousin Steve (Mary) Auten.

John's parents Ernest and Geraldine; 18-year-old granddaughter Lauren McGlaughlin; brother Larry Chester and sister Linda Bland preceded him in passing.

Private Family services will be held at Garden of Memory Cemetery Mausoleum.
