John R. Campbell, age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Woodlands of Muncie.  John had fought a valiant fight against Alzheimer's.  He was born on December 2, 1938, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Homer and Ellen Campbell.  After graduating from Muncie Central High School, John joined the United States Army and worked for Chevrolet of Muncie.  He retired after 30 years and was a proud member of the United Auto Workers local 499.  He married the love of his life Gloria (Lindsey) Campbell, devoting himself to her and their children.

John was a past Grand Master of the Whitney Masonic Lodge 229, and was a member of the Grand Lodge of Indiana, the Shriners of Muncie, the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, and the Eagles Lodge.  John loved to spend time fishing and was an avid fan of NASCAR, having attended several races over the years.

John leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Gloria; son, Daniel Hahn (Stephanie); daughter, Yonda Hannaford (Andy), sister, May Miller (Earl); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, as well as a special fishing buddy, Dale Foreman.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond Campbell; sister, Mary Warfel; brother-in-law Mick Warfel; and his niece, Nettie Bland.

Funeral services will be at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams, Muncie, Indiana, on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 12:00 PM.  Friends may call from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM on Monday.  There will be a Masonic funeral rite starting at 11:30 AM and the funeral will start at 12:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery.
