Johnny Ray Gifford of Muncie, Indiana, passed away following a sudden illness on April 5, 2026.  Johnny was born on March 5, 1965, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Ray Edward and Evelyn Christine (Neal) Gifford.

Following school at Union in Modoc, Johnny went into the construction field as a carpenter.  He eventually went on to be a self-employed contractor.  He was a man who loved to work on mechanical things such as cars.  If it ran, he could fix it.  He also enjoyed attending car shows, and in his younger years, he liked to go fishing.

Johnny was a genuinely good person with a kind heart.  To those who knew him personally, they understood that underneath a tough exterior, he was a person who cared about those around him.  However, he could be a strong-willed, stubborn person who was set in his ways.

He is survived by a daughter, Nikki Falkenstein (Robert), a granddaughter, Skye Edwards, his mother, Evelyn Gifford, his siblings, Ray Gifford, Bobby Gifford, and Debbie Gifford, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Ray Gifford, and siblings, Rachel Huckelby and Jimmy Gifford, and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street, Muncie, Indiana.  Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
