Judy Garrett, 78, passed away Friday morning, December 23, 2022, at the IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.  She was born on June 28, 1944, in Oneida, Tennessee the daughter of Millard and Josie (Ellis) Byrd.

Judy attended Cross Roads Missionary Baptist in Tennessee, she was a foster mother to over 20 children, she enjoyed bingo, the game of Aggravation, Texas Hold'em, and fishing. She was a girl scouts' leader, a softball team manager, and a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Spradlin, and Paul Garrett (Debbie), sister Patsy Ertle (Steven), six grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, beloved cat Big Boy, and several nieces and nephews as well as a host of great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Karra, and eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services and visitation will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022, starting at 1:00 pm at Parson Mortuary with Rev. Chris Sewell officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 to the time of service at 2:00 pm.
