Kenneth Darell Withers, 70, was reunited with his heavenly family on Tuesday, July 14th 2026, passing peacefully at home while surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on September 10th 1955, in Muncie, Indiana, Kenneth was the son of Helen (Cooper) Withers and Lurad Withers. He was a 1973 graduate of Delta High School, where he met the love of his life, Mary. Kenneth lived a life marked by kindness, compassion, unwavering faith, and a genuine love for people.

To know Kenneth was to know someone who never met a stranger. Whether at the grocery store, church, or simply out running errands, he always seemed to know someone—or quickly made a new friend. His warm smile, easy conversation, and caring spirit left an impression on everyone he encountered.

Kenneth leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 52 years, Mary Kathrine Withers; his loving children, Kerri Withers, Tara Withers and Dickie Watson, and Marc Withers; and his cherished grandsons, Dathan Watson and Markelind Williams, who will forever treasure his love, guidance, and countless memories.

He is also survived by his sister, Shannon Brisco and husband Kennard; his brothers & sisters in-law, Adrienne (Gardner) Withers, Burma & Tim Stanton, Tom & April Walker, along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and treasured friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Lurad and Helen (Cooper) Withers; siblings: Ron Withers, Judy (Withers) Graley and husband David, Don Withers and wife Jean, Pamela (Withers) Graley and husband Larry, and Loretta (Withers) Mullins.

Kenneth retired from Henry County Memorial Hospital in 2016 after many years of dedicated service. While he worked hard throughout his life, it was the simple joys that brought him the greatest happiness. He found peace tending to his flowers and garden, taking pride in every bloom and every season. He had a remarkable gift for music, and few things brought him more joy than singing and sitting at the piano. His music wasn't just heard, it was felt. Whether lifting spirits with a favorite hymn or filling his home with song, Kenneth's voice and piano playing reflected the joy and faith that lived within him.

A devoted Christian, Kenneth faithfully attended Eaton First Baptist Church. His faith was not only something he professed but something he lived each day through acts of kindness, generosity, and love. He believed in treating others with compassion and always made time to encourage those around him.

His legacy is not measured only by the years he lived, but by the countless lives he touched. His laughter, his music, his love of flowers, his steadfast faith, and his ability to make everyone feel like family will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Eaton First Baptist Church, 510 E. Columbia Street, Eaton, Indiana. Friends and family are invited to gather from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to celebrate his life. There will be a meal and fellowship immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Kenneth's memory by sharing kindness with others, lending a helping hand, planting something beautiful, singing from your heart, or simply taking the time to make a stranger feel like a friend just as Kenneth did throughout his life.
