Marcelle Hatton, formerly of Yorktown, passed away at the age of 104 on Thursday, September 10, 2026, surrounded by her family.  She was born on May 8, 1922, the daughter of William and Blanch (Shipley) Finley.

Following graduation from Harrison Township High School in 1940, Marcelle worked as a supervisor in medical records for Ball Memorial Hospital.  She retired from Ball Memorial in 1989, but she went on to volunteer for 24 years at the hospital.  In total, she accumulated over 35,000 hours of volunteer work at Ball, and she also volunteered at the Delaware County Senior Citizens Center.

Marcelle attended Yorktown Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday school for several years.  She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, as well as teaching others to do so.  She would often attend bazaars selling her craftwork, meeting and talking to people.

Survivors include her son, Michael Dene Hatton, and daughter-in-law, Deborah Hatton, of Fortville, Indiana; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Marcelle was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Maxine Click, Eva Watson, Brucelle Long, Norma Luzadder, and Wanda Fink, and one brother, Eugene Finley.

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams, Muncie, Indiana, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM.  Friends may call on the family from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on the day of the service.  A private family burial will follow.  Pastor Tom Wiles, Senior Pastor of Fall Creek Christian, will officiate.
