Mary R. Norris, age 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday evening, July 16, 2022 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

A lifelong resident of Muncie, Mary was born January 5, 1946 to the late Leo "Jack" and Frances (Crump) May. She attended Muncie Central High School. During her career she served as a customer service manager with Walmart, a waitress at the soda fountain at Haney Pharmacy, and at Marsh Supermarket. She was also actively involved in The Bridge Community Church in Muncie and volunteered in the Cardio-Pulmonary Rehab Center at IU Ball Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Norris; her sister, Kathy Paris; and her brother, Jack May.

She is survived by her three daughters, Shelly Johnson (Rusty), Christina Reed (Bryan), Melissa Lautzenheiser (Michael); six grandchildren, Austin Fisher (Dakota), Stephen Dean (Jordan), Rebecca Reed, Bryan Reed, Jr., Hunter Davis, Logan Lowe; and two great-grandchildren Kamden and Kasen. She is also survived by her sister, Penny Digman, several nieces and nephews, and her four best friends, Valerie Kizer, Sue Wright, Edy Stanley, and Bonnie Chambers.

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary in Muncie on Monday, July 25, 2022. Calling hours will be from 12:00-2:00 pm with a service at 2:00. Burial will follow the service at Elm Ridge Cemetery.
