Obituary

Mary Grace Threet said “Bye Love” to her family on October 29, 2026, in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Mary was born November 24, 1947, to Ernest and Ruth (McCready) Jones, in Connersville, Indiana. Mary spent her childhood in Connersville, attending the area schools.

Mary moved to Muncie and worked at Carmen’s Restaurant as a carhop. This is where she met and fell in love with her future husband of 61 years, Dayton Threet. Eventually, she worked for Ball State University in Dining Services, retiring after 29 years.

Mary was a kind-hearted, loving woman who would do anything for anyone. She was generous with what she had, often providing for others in need. She was a friend to everyone, and it was said that you would never walk away from her without a hug.

Mary’s biggest joys in life were her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them. She also enjoyed Bingo, camping, riding the MITS bus to stores, and making sure she went down every aisle. Mary loved taking trips with her family to Michigan, Brown County, and Metamora. She was a fan of country music, a maker of famous potato salad, a little bit onery, and told some “quirky” jokes.

Left behind to miss her telephone calls and company are her children, Tim Threet (Angela), Todd Threet, Karen Rodrick, and Terri Pierce (Scott), her grandchildren, Travis, Shanna, Tristan, Branden, Tori, Dayton and Selena, several great-grandchildren, and her best friend, Pam Wendland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Ruth; her husband, Dayton Threet; her son, Rob Threet; her 3 sisters and 5 brothers.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 PM, Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street, Muncie. Friends may call on the family from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM on the day of the service. Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery, north of Yorktown, Indiana.
