Michael Lee Pullen, 84, of Muncie, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 04, 2026. He was born in Muncie on October 16th, 1941, to George C. and Cleo F. (Anderson) Pullen.

Michael graduated from Daleville High School in 1959. During high school, he competed on the track team and for many years held multiple school records in sprinting events.

After high school, Michael attended Bemidji State College in Bemidji, MN, for vocational training in railroad management. After completing training, Michael worked with the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy railroad in Chicago, IL for several years. Michael also worked as a farm hand with Nixon Farms and on the Hays family farm. Michael was hired by General Motors in 1966 and worked there until he retired in 1999. Most of those years, Michael worked in the division of Delco Remy, where he held positions as a line operator and foreman.

Throughout his life, Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing, western movies, listening to country music, traveling to Brown County, IN, and Gatlinburg, TN, and later in life, simply watching the grass grow.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his adopted father, Wallace L. Hays.

Michael is survived by his sons: Troy (Shelley) Pullen of Muncie, IN, and Anthony (Sandra) Pullen of Tucson, AZ. He is survived by six grandchildren: Tyler (Ashley) Pullen of La Vernia, TX, Taylor Pullen of Valparaiso, IN, Jacob Pullen of Aurora, CO, Elizabeth Pullen of West Hollywood, CA, Emily Pullen of Austin, TX, and Jesse Pullen of Tempe, AZ. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Elliot, Easton, Isabelle, and Thomas.

Burial will take place at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie.
