It is with deep sadness that the family of Nellie Williams, age 81, of Muncie, Indiana, announces her peaceful passing on Friday, October 9, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.

Nellie grew up around Hazard, Kentucky, with her parents, Julius and Edith Raichel, along with her three brothers and one sister. On April 27, 1964, she married Paul Williams and moved to Indiana. Before Paul's passing in 2002, she spent most weekends watching him proudly play guitar in his band.

Nellie was a dedicated worker, spending five years canning lids at Jarden before eventually retiring from BorgWarner after many years of service. A woman of strong faith, she thoroughly enjoyed playing bingo with her friends after retirement and, above all, spending cherished time with her family.

Nellie is survived by her daughter, Debbie Montross, her sons, Ronnie Williams and Hank Williams and his wife Kelly; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Williams; her brothers, Bobby and Roger Raichel; her granddaughter, Andrea Nottingham; and her son-in-law, Dave Montross.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Beech Grove Cemetery, 1400 W. Kilgore.
