Patsy Bright-Ertle, 70, took her last earthly breath at approximately 10:30 pm on November 10, 2024, at Ball Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.  She was born Patsy F. Byrd on May 5, 1954, in Oneida, TN.

Patsy was the youngest child of Millard and Josie (Ellis) Byrd, as she precedes them and all nine of her siblings in death.  In her early years, she lived a very simple life with her family in the mountains of Tennessee, work brought the family to Indiana where she would stay for the remainder of her life.

As an adult, Patsy worked numerous jobs in Muncie, where she would eventually retire as the owner of Byrd Landing and My Place Bar and Grills. Outside of her work life Patsy would go on to achieve many awards and accolades as a business owner, Girl Scout leader, softball player with her most cherished awards coming from playing in pool leagues around Muncie, which she loved. Patsy played pool for 18 years in the American Pool Players Association totaling 794 8-Ball and 289 9-Ball matches. Pool leagues gave her the opportunity to play from Muncie all the way to Las Vegas where she competed in World Championship tournaments multiple times.

Surviving Patsy is her husband Steven (Cowboy) Ertle, her 4 children; John Harty, Trish Owen (Rob), Angie Barton, and Shane Barton, 9 grandchildren; Jessica, Cyle, Whitley, Bailey, Kailey, Shayna, Christian, Nathan, and Riley, 5 great-grandchildren; Annabelle, River, Tessa, Riggs, and Owen, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her very dear friend Tammy Dye.

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary on Monday, November 18, 2024. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery with Chris Sewell officiating.
