Rhonda Ellen Johnson, 62, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2022, surrounded by friends and family at her Aunt Rosie's trailer. She had been fighting an extended battle with cancer.

Rhonda was born in Muncie, IN on June 30, 1960 to John Johnson and the late Carolyn (Kimmel) Johnson. She worked as a laborer for the Union for several years.

Rhonda had a lot of love to give. She loved life, her family and friends, vacations, floating down the river, holidays with family, hanging out at Woody's, going to the movies, especially the 3D ones, bowling with her grandsons, and her cats (also known as her "fur babies"). All the cats in the neighborhood knew where to go to get fed. Eventually, she was nicknamed the "Crazy Cat Lady."

Rhonda was always the light of the party and everyone knew when she showed up. At every new gathering, Rhonda would have a new funny story to share.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her son, Nicky J Nance; her siblings Kimberly Skinner and Anthony Lee Johnson; her grandma Pauline Kimmel, her grandpa Leroy Kimmel; her grandmother, Sallie Mae Johnson, and her granddaddy, Irving "Bob" Johnson.

She is survived by her life partner of 29 years, Greg Hiday; her father, John Johnson Sr.; her daughter Melissa Johnson; grandsons Tanner Johnson and Caden Hunter; her brother, Greg Johnson, her brother, Johnny Johnson Jr. and wife Tabby Johnson, and her sister, Sherri Kay Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.

Calling hours will be held at Parson Mortuary from 5-8PM for family and friends in Muncie on Monday, July 25, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM at Parson Mortuary on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Burial will follow the service at Neese Cemetery.
