Robert Michael "Mike" Mitchell, age 76, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, July 20, 2022, in the company of his family where he wanted to be. He was born June 22, 1946, in Hartford City, Indiana, to Robert O'Dell Mitchell and Dorothy (Copper) Mitchell.

Mike enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, canning, going to the drag races and drag strip, playing the guitar and harmonica, music, he was known to make the best Thanksgiving stuffing and chocolate chip cookies, he loved his family and was a wonderful dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa, his biggest passion was working and restoring old cars, he also enjoyed scrapping aluminum.

He is survived by his best friend/partner of 30 years, Linda (Durham) Mitchell of Muncie, IN, his children; daughter Mina Ann (Bill) Mitchell Eggers of Mooresville, IN; Sons, Michael Brian Mitchell of Seymour, IN, Scott Allen Mitchell, Seymour, IN, Dustin Nathaniel Mitchell, Muncie, IN; Bonus daughters Treasa Spears, Muncie, IN, Laura Durham, Muncie, IN; 9 grandchildren, Johnna (Joe) Ivory, Indianapolis, IN, Tyler Mitchell, Greenwood, IN, Bryan (Heather Smith) Mitchell, Hannah Mitchell, Seymour, IN, McKenna Mitchell, Seymour, IN, Ricky Spears, Muncie, IN, Jessie Spears, Muncie, IN, Geni (Jacob) McNicholas, Scipio, IN, Zac Eggers, Greenwood, IN; 6  great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Calvin, and Eloise Ivory, Indianapolis, IN, Gram and Koen Mitchell, Seymour, IN, and Adaline McNichols, Scipio, IN. One sister, Sally Coats of Albany, IN. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and his buddy Queenie.

Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Donald "Don" Mitchell and William "Allen" Mitchell, one sister Marlene (Mitchell) Hole, two nieces, Valerie Hole and Kimberley Mitchell, in addition to his son, Jonathan "Johnny" Reece Mitchell.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July, 27, 2022 at Parson Mortuary, 801 West Adams Street, Muncie, Indiana, 47305. Visitation will be from 9:00 am – 11:00 am with service at 11:00 am. Pastor Brian Oliver will be officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 Old State Road 3, Muncie, IN, 47303.
