Roger D. Harry, 67, passed away early Friday evening, March 18, 2022 at the Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center in Parker City, Indiana following an extended illness.  He was born on October 3, 1954 in Muncie, the son of James Edward and A.V. (Riddle) Harry.

Roger graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1972 and later enlisted in the U.S. Army where he honorably served as a mechanic for Co. A. of the 229th Aviation Battalion attack Helicopter squadron which was part of the 101st.  Airborne Division, for seven years.  He eventually worked for Indiana Bridge as a welder prior to his disability.

Survivors include one sister, Jolene Watters, Muncie; one brother, James Harry (Darlene), Florida; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Rita Cheatham and Eddie Jean Phillips; three brothers-in-laws, Charlie Watters, Cecil Cheatham and Robert Phillips.

Cremation is being done with a private family gathering at a later date.  Burial of cremated remains will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.  Celebrant Craig Malone to officiate.  Military honors will be rendered by the Delaware County Honor Guard.  Parson Mortuary Cremation Center is entrusted with these arrangements.
