Shelia Kay Pettit, age 69 of Greens Fork died Tuesday July 11, 2023 at the Golden Living Center in Richmond, Indiana.  Shelia was born in New Castle on July 19,1953, the daughter of Tom and Violet Guffey.

Shelia received her GED at the age of 16, she went on to work with The Delaware County EMT Dept. She continued her passion for helping people in need at the Richmond State Hospital. After furthering her education in Colorado Springs, Colorado as a Drug Abuse Counselor she moved on to work at the Koala Center located in Indianapolis, Indiana. She dedicated more than 20 years to working for Meridian Health Services. After devoting much of her life to others she worked security for The Halteman Village Security Gate and was a CNA when she passed.

Shelia enjoyed attending church services and being a member of The Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, being outside watching her hummingbirds, and could never pass up a good rummage sale. She spent much of her time reading books and spending time with her family.

Shelia is survived by her daughter, Tamera Curtis (Brian Harper), sister Deborah Burden, grandkids, Dustin Scott, Lucas Thomas (Amber), Zachary Scott, Shellya Runyon (Whitney Runyon), William Curtis (Heather Curtis) and 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 nieces and 4 nephews. Services will be held at the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints church in New Castle on Saturday, July 22nd, 2023, at 10 AM.
