Shirley Kay North, 80, left this life on Friday evening, June 16, 2023, at the Cardinal Care Strategies Health Care Center following an extended illness.  She was born on January 28, 1943, in Alexandria the daughter of Robert L. Martha (Collins) Miller.

Shirley graduated from Gaston High School in 1961 and later married the love of her life, Michael North on August 20, 1961, in Gaston and he survives, they were Junior High School Sweethearts.  Mrs. North became a homemaker.  She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and reading.

Besides her husband of 61 years, Michael, she is survived by two children, Kim Brumback (Michael), Yorktown, and Robert North (Andrea), Muncie; 5 grandchildren, Alyssa Brumback-Powers, Erin Brumback, Caleb North, Anna Miller, Elisha North; 7 great-grandchildren, Ellie Powers, Raylynn North, Henry, Hudson, Hamilton and Harris Miller and Bellamey North.

Mrs. North chose to be cremated with no services to be rendered.   Parson Mortuary Cremation Center is entrusted with these arrangements.
