William (Bill) H. Lane passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022 in Colorado Springs. Probably the orneriest person you would ever meet. He was born April 16, 1941 in Muncie, IN, the son of Howard E. and Margaret H. (Schneider) Lane. Bill graduated from Muncie Central in 1960 and was a tool and die maker for U.S. Engineering, Kenbar, Central Manufacturing and Chrysler.

His parents and his brother, David A. Lane, preceded him in death. He is survived by his 4 children, John (Bea) Lane - Lausanne, Switzerland, Chrissy (Jeff) Bright - Clarksville, TN, Kerry (Dawn) Lane - Colorado Springs, CO, Ben (Cher) Lane - Omaha, NE, 5 grandchildren and 1 bonus grandchild Stephanie (Jason Parks) Paul, Noémie Lane, Christopher Lane, Benjamin Lane, Jory Lane, Kooper Lane, Brooke Ashbridge, great granddaughter Stella Paul and 2 bonus great-grandchildren Brady and Charlotte Parks, niece Michelle Tucker and special friends Kelly, Cin and Kafy.

He enjoyed playing cards and board games with his grandkids, watching the Indianapolis Colts and other sports and playing cornhole. His multiple abilities and antics included the burying of a pickup truck and lifting the bed off a dumptruck by way of a tree.

He had a penchant for nicknames and either tagged you with one or saw to it that one stuck, here is a short list – Bubba, Puwet, Shaner, Swoose, Bea Baby, Punkin, Pooh, Weinieburger, Scrub, Dawnensky, Weasel, Baby Gator, Baby Baby Gator, Baby No, Lil Wease, Big C, Hockey Puck (2), Cin Cin and a few that can't be printed.

A private burial will be held Sat October 15 followed by an open memorial gathering from 1-3pm at Mr. & Mrs. B Champs Bar and Grill on N Walnut.
