Wreatha J. Purkiser, 97, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday morning, August 16, 2022, at the Parker Health Care Center following an extended illness.  She was born on January 26, 1925 in Muncie the daughter of Charles Murphy and Bessie Murphy- Williams.

Wreatha graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1943.  Besides being a homemaker, she worked for Ball Memorial Hospital at a patient escort for a period of time.  She attended Full Gospel Temple and enjoyed doing Crochet Work and Knitting.

Survivors include one daughter, Dorthea Boles (Fred Boles, Sr.), Muncie; two step sons, Bob Dean (Mary Lee), Anderson and Tom Dean, Northern Indiana; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three husbands; her parents; one daughter, Cynthia Shanks; one son, Paul "Sonny" E. Turner; two grandsons, J. D. Shanks and Fred Boles, Jr. in 2019; one sister, Violet Darrell.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 2:00 P.M.  at Tomlinson Cemetery with Pastor Denny Helton officiating.   Parson Mortuary Cremation Center is entrusted with these arrangements.
